Introducing Our New Supplier: Lanka Kade

At Little Green Tots UK, we’re passionate about offering toys that are made with care — by skilled hands, from sustainable materials, and with genuine respect for people and the planet. That’s why we’re so excited to introduce our newest supplier: Lanka Kade. https://www.lankakade.co.uk/our-company

✨ Who Are Lanka Kade?

Founded in 1994 by Upul and Diane Fernando, Lanka Kade - which means “The Sri Lankan Shop” - began as a small family business importing handcrafted toys from Sri Lanka. Today, it’s one of the UK’s most respected Fair Trade wooden toy brands, recognised for its ethical standards and beautifully designed products.

🌱 Handmade, Fair Trade & Sustainable

Every Lanka Kade toy is handmade from sustainable rubber wood, a by-product of the rubber industry that would otherwise go to waste. The brand works directly with artisan groups in Sri Lanka, providing fair wages, training, and interest-free loans to help communities grow and thrive independently.

This long-term partnership ensures that every toy you buy supports meaningful employment and protects traditional craftsmanship.

🧩 Toys That Inspire Learning

Co-founder Diane’s background in teaching inspired Lanka Kade’s focus on educational play. Their wooden puzzles, playsets, and push-along toys are designed to help little ones develop skills in colour recognition, counting, and imaginative play - all through fun, hands-on learning.

🎨 Bright, Natural & Built to Last

Each piece combines bold, child-safe colours with the natural warmth of wood. The result? Toys that look beautiful on display and feel wonderful in little hands. These designs are made to be treasured, not tossed aside - sustainable in both materials and meaning.

💚 Why We Love Partnering with Lanka Kade

Bringing Lanka Kade into the Little Green Tots family means you can now shop a new range of:
